The Home Office recently launched its first ever short film on modern slavery to raise awareness of the issues and to highlight trafficking and forced labour indicators. The aim of the film is to help people to identify victims of modern slavery in the UK. I was asked to provide legal advice in the film.
The film is called 'Modern Slavery is closer than you think: Understanding Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking' and it gives an important profile to a Modern Slavery Helpline that is being run by the NSPCC to identify the victims of such crimes.
Please feel free to distribute this film to your family, friends and contacts - the more people who understand what modern slavery looks like in the UK, the more we can help find and protect the victims of these terrible crimes.
