A Busy Week at Specialist Policing Consultancy
It’s been a busy week here at Specialist Policing Consultancy as we work on several important initiatives in the fight against human trafficking. Here’s a quick update on what our team has been focused on:
– We are preparing a training programme for prosecutors in Uzbekistan on behalf of the OSCE, aiming to equip them with strategies to address trafficking cases more effectively. Our director Bernie Gravett flies out next week to deliver this training along with our associate Barrister Isabella Kirwan.
– We’re also in the final stages of planning a cognitive interview course in Brighton, tailored to help professionals conduct more effective trauma informed interviews.
– Our directors Bernie Gravett and Colin Carswell MA are excited to be recording an episode on the Getting There podcast with Presenter Brogan Garrit-smith this Friday, where they’ll discuss our work in anti-trafficking and the challenges of this field.
– We have been interviewing potential trafficking victims in legal cases where we serve as Expert Witnesses.
– Our experts have been warned for several trials this week, where they may be called to provide expert testimony.
This is all alongside our ongoing projects in Serbia, Ukraine, Malta, North Macedonia, Brazil, and Albania, where we continue working with local partners to make a tangible impact.
