SPC Directors present at the Council of Europe
SPC’s Directors recently been in Strasbourg, in their capacity as Council of Europe Law Enforcement experts on human trafficking – presenting at the ‘CoE Consultation Group on Children of Ukraine’.
Shortly after the full scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, Europol warned of the serious risks of Ukrainian children, seeking refuge, being trafficked and exploited.
Over 2 years later the numbers identified as having been exploited are very low. Why? Perhaps one reason – law enforcement and partners are not being as proactive in seeking them as possible. But, make no mistake, Ukrainian children are being trafficked and exploited!
The absence of evidence is not evidence of absence!
