Presenting at the 12th Interpol conference on Human Trafficking and Migrant Smuggling
Belgrade, Serbia. Our directors Bernie Gravett and Colin Carswell have just presented at the 12th Interpol Global Conference on Human Trafficking and Migrant Smuggling for Expert Groups.
Joining international colleagues from law enforcement and the private sector, Colin & Bernie shared their experience of being independent expert witnesses in over 200 UK criminal and immigration cases involving modern slavery / human trafficking.
Colin & Bernie focused on Child Criminal Exploitation for street level drug dealing, highlighting how vulnerable children are purposefully recruited by Organised Crime Groups; groomed into working for the gang; used to transport and deal drugs on the gangs’ behalf; forced to place drugs rectally and often arrested and not recognised as being victims.
Thank you to the Human Trafficking Modern Slavery Unit at Interpol, and our hosts the Serbian Ministry of Interior, for delivering such an incredible and informative 3-day event. The coming together of professionals and experts from around the world, all dedicated to protecting victims of human trafficking and successfully investigating those responsible, was incredible.
